Watery Wednesday - Sunshine Skyway Bridge

This isn't the best picture of the bridge, but it was my chance to take it when I wasn't driving the car. We were on our way the the Tampa Bay Rays game in St Pete. If it was clearer you would be able to see the dome where they play. Just kind of a hazy day in the bay!

On top of the bridge freshly painted yellow, before that it was spotty.

This is after the game on the way back home. The fishing pier you see is part of the old skyway bridge. That one was hit by a freighter and was destroyed, they left the two entry road for people to fish off from.
Heading toward Pinellas County, crossing over Tampa Bay.

This was added to: http://waterywednesday.blogspot.com check out the other water photos.

It just might cool you off!

  2. That bridge looks scary high!! And long.
But what a great idea to keep part of the old one for a pier.

  6. I used to live in Tampa! Whenever we'd pass over Skyway, my Mom would talk about when the freighter hit the bridge and people were driving off the edge becuase it was so foggy out. It's always given me the creeps, lol.

  10. Lyndsey, OH!!! I get you! I am also not a fan of high ceilings! Storage is a MUST. If we could put the little home on a basement . That would be enough for me!I agree , how much entertaining do you really do? We also have a huge pole barn for storage as well. I wish we were just building his little house with no plans for more. But V wants it bigger so...
I will be delighted to have my little tiny home til next year.
    Have a pretty day~

  11. Every time I drove across the Skyway I think of the stories I've read about the freighter hitting the old bridge -- unbelievable! Wonderful perspectives. Hope you had fun at the Rays game. I need to get up there for one yet this summer.

  12. Thanks everyone! The Rays won in extra innings!
I think about the freighter hitting the old bridge every time too, especially with part of the old bridge still there. Then I'm glad the bridge is so high!
