SkyWatch Friday - Sunset on Sarasota Bay

It's been awhile since I have posted to SkyWatch Friday, not that I haven't had any sky photos to post, I just thought you'd like to see something other than sunset photos....and even though this is another sunset pic it is not over the Gulf of Mexico is is taken at my aunt and uncles in Bradenton, Florida looking over Sarasota Bay at Longboat Key, Florida.

Taken at Christmas the sky was amazing....

...and the sky was always changing...the colors were stunning.

...so calm and peaceful...it was hard to look away!

A Dog and Her Bone -

Mika loves to chew on her bones. She is still a puppy and discovers all kinds of new things. Her favorite bone she it fits nicely over her chin and rests behind her canine teeth. When she looks straight at you it almost looks like she has a goatee...she can get it off herself, but it looks like it's stuck...my husband put the bone up away from her because he though it was stuck on, but she can get it off herself. ..even now that she is bigger, it takes her awhile but she can do it...silly dog! ...It is also hard to get a straight on photo of her...she is looking at you and as soon as I click the button...she moves first one way.....

...and then the other way...

...then this way...

...then that way...

...then down...then up...and aahaa!

...got it!

...sort of...

taadaa!...I did get a few head on...she is so funny with this bone.

Saturday Photo Hunt - Fall

This weeks Saturday Photo Hunt is Fall - well fall is hard to capture in a photo in south Florida. So my first is of our prickly pear cacti that had a "fall" during a heavy rain which we usually don't get in late "fall" maybe early fall after all it still is hurricane season until the end of November.

This was taken in the "fall" and it is a symbol of "quietly" in my mind. The vine are near the end of there summer growth, quietly waiting for fall.

This series of photos are of a bitter apple that appears (the photo was taken in) Fall!

Some of our "fall" foliage is shown here on my banana tree...

...and many shells fall up onto the beach in "fall"...

...although bananas can bloom all through the year, I seem to be getting many now in the fall!

Saturday Photo Hunt - "Mural"

For this weeks photo hunt "mural"...a day late, but I had this mural photo from an anniversary post on my food blog a while back. We went to Anna Maria Island and it is always so colorful and beautiful there...it's like going on vacation just 40 minutes away! Many of the building in this little coastal town are painted such pretty colors and I love the feel of the whole town. Here is the original post on The Tiny Skillet.

Saturday Photo Hunt - SASSY

 When I first saw the photo hunt word I right away thought of our puppy Mika. She is definitely sassy! The lively and spirited sassy. But the trick is capturing her fun personality in a photo...in this one she was excavating in the sand, she still has some on her nose...

 A capture in the midst of her lizard hunting...

 ...she really knows how to relax too...

...all snuggled in the middle of all the pillows on the bed...

 ...and she enjoys a good boat ride ....she'd be sitting up on the back deck if allowed.

What? I was just going to play with him!

 ...awww, it's okay!

I know you've seen her before, but how can you not love that face?!!

Michigan "Quiet" for Saturday Photo Hunt

Okay since it has been awhile I thought I have to join in this week for Saturday Photo hunt - QUIET. So I searched my pictures from my recent visit to Michigan. It was very quiet here on Half Moon Lake.

And here in the vineyard at Bower's Harbor.

Overlooking Lake Michigan at Sleeping Bear Dunes which has to be quiet or it will wake the bear.

All quiet here as well...

Enjoying the peace and "quiet" of the rolling hills at Chateau Chantal Winery.

You could enjoy this really "quiet" bed and breakfast in Glenn Arbor Michigan if that is what you are looking for in a vacation to get away from it all.
